The Peace and Freedom Party takes the position that all parties, including civilians charged with crimes against the police and police charged with crimes against civilians, have the right to reasonable bail. In the last few decades, the State of California has abused 8th Amendment rights. We oppose such abuse. However, a reaction to eliminate bail for any specific person is short-sighted.
